Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GetMaps ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GetMaps is a web-based map editor that allows users to design, style, and export custom maps in multiple formats including PNG, JPEG, SVG, DXF, and glTF. The Service is provided free of charge during the beta period.

3. User Accounts

You may be required to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

4. User Content

You retain all rights to maps, styles, and other content you create using the Service. GetMaps does not claim ownership of your content. You grant GetMaps a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law or by the open-source licenses of third-party components (e.g., LGPL-licensed libraries listed on the License page, which you may study and replace as those licenses permit); (c) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure; (d) scrape or bulk-download map data beyond normal usage.

6. Third-Party Data & Satellite Imagery

The Service uses data from OpenStreetMap (ODbL 1.0), Overture Maps Foundation (ODbL 1.0), Protomaps, Mapterhorn, and Natural Earth. Rendered map images you export (PNG/JPEG/SVG) are "Produced Works" under ODbL: they are yours to use and license as you wish, provided the attribution included in the export remains visible. Raw map data you export (DXF, glTF, FlatGeobuf) that derives from OpenStreetMap or Overture remains licensed under ODbL; nothing in these Terms restricts your rights under that license, including redistribution of that data. Layers you draw yourself are entirely yours.

Satellite imagery is the Sentinel-2 cloudless 2016 mosaic by EOX (ESA/Copernicus data, CC BY 4.0) — free to export and use commercially with the attribution included in the export.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. GetMaps does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GetMaps shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
