GetMaps Software
GetMaps is proprietary software. All rights reserved. The source code, design, and branding of GetMaps are owned by GetMaps and may not be copied, modified, or distributed without explicit permission. Third-party open-source components are used under their own licenses, listed below.
Your Exports
Rendered maps you export (PNG, JPEG, SVG) are "Produced Works" under the ODbL: they are yours to use for personal, commercial, and editorial purposes, provided the attribution included in the export remains visible. Raw map data you export (DXF, glTF, FlatGeobuf) that derives from OpenStreetMap or Overture Maps remains licensed under the ODbL — if you redistribute that data, keep the attribution and license notice that GetMaps embeds in the export. Layers you draw yourself are entirely yours.

Underlying Data on Request
In line with ODbL §4.6, the map data behind GetMaps is openly available: OpenStreetMap extracts via Geofabrik (processed by Geofabrik GmbH), Overture Maps releases via overturemaps.org, Protomaps basemap builds via maps.protomaps.com/builds. GetMaps does not modify these datasets.
Open Source Software
GetMaps is built with open-source software. Permissively licensed components (MIT/BSD/ISC) include MapLibre GL JS, react-map-gl, PMTiles, @protomaps/basemaps, DuckDB-WASM, jsPDF, FlatGeobuf, Three.js, Turf.js, glTF-Transform, Next.js, React, Zustand, Tailwind CSS, and Auth.js — their copyright notices are reproduced in the application bundle.
gdal3.js (LGPL-2.1-or-later)
Format conversion is powered by gdal3.js v2.8.1 (unmodified), which compiles GDAL, PROJ, GEOS (LGPL-2.1), and SpatiaLite to WebAssembly. It is loaded as separate, user-replaceable files under /gdal3/. License: LGPL-2.1; complete source is available at the linked repositories. You may replace these files with your own builds.
DuckDB spatial extension
The self-hosted duckdb-spatial extension (MIT) statically includes GEOS (LGPL-2.1) and GDAL/PROJ (MIT). It is served as separate unmodified WebAssembly files; sources are available at the linked repositories.
Fonts (SIL OFL 1.1)
UI fonts Poppins, JetBrains Mono, and Instrument Serif, and map glyphs Noto Sans, are licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. They are embedded for display only and are not sold separately.
Icons
Map icons from Maki (CC0) and sprite icons derived from MIT-licensed tangrams/icons.
Geocoding
Location search is powered by Nominatim (search results © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
